- ➤ WM Recycling Brevard and county officials set new holiday recycling rules that let residents leave real trees curbside from Dec. 26 to Jan. 16 after ornaments and lights are removed. They advised that artificial trees must go in trash carts or be dropped off at designated sites, including one in Melbourne. Florida Today
- ➤ WM Recycling Brevard's plant manager Tim Van Ness explained that residents should avoid recycling holiday items such as Christmas lights, artificial trees and batteries. His advice reminds locals to properly dispose of items that may contaminate recycling streams. Florida Today

- ➤ The City of Melbourne has issued a precautionary boil water notice for customers on Pelican Drive after a planned water main repair will temporarily shut off water at properties from 140 through 440 on Pelican Drive and 150 on Ocean Boulevard today; residents should boil water for cooking, drinking and cleaning until safety is confirmed.
