  • Two rockets will launch from Cape Canaveral on Monday, Dec. 15; United Launch Alliance’s Atlas V will lift Amazon’s satellites at 3:49 a.m. ET and later SpaceX’s Falcon 9 will launch 29 Starlink satellites from Kennedy’s pad—local viewers can watch from nearby beaches if weather permits.  Florida Today
  • Last weekend, Brevard Sheriff's Office partnered with Viera Walmart to hold its annual Shop With A Cop event + helped children choose gifts for Christmas morning. The charity-funded event strengthened community ties ahead of the holiday.  Space Coast Daily
  • Parrish Medical Center is hosting its 30th annual Gift of Light celebration today at its Titusville campus (this free event features a 50-foot Christmas tree lighting, festive school performances and a fireworks display to unite families).  Space Coast Daily

  • Melbourne audiences will see the Rated R Hypnotist Show by Benjamin Jackson at the Holiday Inn on North Wickham Road starting 7 p.m. January 10, and the high-energy performance mixes comedy & hypnotism for an engaging night out.  Space Coast Daily
  • The Space Coast Renaissance Fair will host a costume contest for lords, ladies, pirates and cosplayers during January weekends. It runs January 10 to 11 and January 17 to 18 at Space Coast Daily Park in Viera from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with rules and prizes soon announced.  Space Coast Daily

  • Florida Power & Light is running its Care To Share initiative with an interactive House of Savings game; every completed play through Dec. 22 donates $5 to help financially needy neighbors and gives 80 local winners a holiday energy-efficiency kit in either a Kitchen or Outdoor theme.  Space Coast Daily

  • Florida Governor Ron DeSantis introduced his Revenue Reset proposal that would eliminate property taxes for homesteaded residents, increasing affordability & spurring buyer interest along the Space Coast including Melbourne. Real estate expert Bobby Freeman expects the change to boost demand in thriving aerospace areas from this year into 2027.  Space Coast Daily

  • Eau Gallie High School senior Brock Lustic (a right-handed pitcher) signed with the University of South Alabama this fall to play Division I baseball after years of growth in local youth leagues.   • Florida Tech’s women’s soccer team claimed its first NCAA Division II national championship on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs — defeating Franklin Pierce 3-0 in a historic win that marked a milestone for the team.  Florida Today
  • Carson Sisler shot a 2-under-par 69 to take the lead at the 65th Annual Platinum Coast Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Rockledge Country Club. Final round play is set to begin at 7:40 a.m. tomorrow.  Florida Today
