  • El Chico Restaurant has permanently closed after 27 years serving enchiladas and margaritas in Melbourne, as the Lemmer family announced on Facebook. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection issued a public notice on Nov. 18 that would let Blue Origin discharge thousands of gallons of wastewater daily into the Indian River Lagoon, raising concerns about water quality and wildlife. Brevard County is considering a new 10-year lagoon tax to fund cleanup efforts and may put it on the ballot at next Election Day—public input is invited.  News 6

  • NASA announced it will give Boeing's Starliner a second chance at certification with an uncrewed launch set for spring 2026—this plan comes as the SpaceX Falcon 9 mission helped Brevard reach over 100 orbital launches in a year.  Florida Today

  • Brevard County residents are urged to have a healthier Thanksgiving by staying active, eating a full breakfast, and controlling portions while making simple recipe changes to lower calories.
