- ➤ Florida’s Space Coast is set to launch 100 to 115 rockets in 2026 and may increase to 350 launches per year within a decade as officials upgrade Cape Canaveral with plans for Starship launches coming early to mid next year* fueled by a large Air Force investment. WFTV 9
- ➤ Florida’s Space Coast will see a quiet week after reaching 101 launches when SpaceX plans a Falcon 9 mission for no earlier than 3:11 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30 from Pad 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center — the rocket will carry Starlink internet satellites to orbit. Florida Today
- ➤ In October 2024, radar uncovered 31 unmarked graves at Line Street Cemetery, a small Black cemetery where early local pioneers are buried (located on WH Jackson St.). Melbourne was awarded a $50,000 grant by the Florida Division of Historical Resources and will add wrought-iron fencing, an interpretative sign, an entrance alcove and a property survey with work set to finish by end of June.
