BUSINESS NEWS

  • On Wednesday, November 5, SpaceX will launch 29 Starlink satellites via its Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station with a launch window from 6:08 p.m. to 10:08 p.m. ET — later that night, a ULA Atlas V rocket will launch Ka-band communications satellites for Viasat from Launch Complex 41 between 10:24 p.m. and 11:08 p.m. ET.  Florida Today
  • Cape Canaveral hosted several space events recently, with SpaceX launching its Starlink mission on Oct.29, Blue Origin’s New Glenn completing a hot fire test on Oct.30, and a Falcon 9 booster producing sonic booms on Nov.2. A ULA launch — scheduled for Nov.5 — will break Florida’s yearly record.  Florida Today
  • Trader Joe's will open its first Brevard County store at Avenue Viera in the former Michael's building before the end of the year, and the company is recruiting crew members with starting pay of $17-$19 an hour plus a Sunday premium.  Florida Today
  • SpaceX said its Starship completed 49 milestones such as life support tests and docking demos, making it the fastest route to a lunar landing under NASA's Artemis program. Its next steps include an extended flight and an in-orbit propellant transfer test set for 2026 — a plan to speed up the mission.  WFTV 9

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will present Cantique de Noel, a free recital of international Christmas songs by American soprano Mary Anne Kruger and pianist Jacob Craig, on November 15 at 7 p.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church (106 N. Riverside Drive) in Indialantic; admission is free with a suggested $20 donation to help cover production costs.  Space Coast Daily
  • True Rumours: the Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute will perform on November 15 at Merritt Island Moose Lodge (3150 N. Courtenay Parkway) starting at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and tickets priced at $30 and $40.  Space Coast Daily

HEALTH NEWS

  • A listeria outbreak linked to prepared pasta meals sold at local retailers including Publix, Walmart and Trader Joe's has infected 27 people and caused six deaths across 18 states as of Oct. 30, with the CDC warning that the true number of cases may be higher. Consumers are advised to discard or return recalled products and seek medical care if they develop symptoms.  Florida Today

  • Legendary knuckleballer Tim Wakefield was inducted into the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame in May 2012 in Melbourne, where he thanked his coaches, his wife, and local fans for their support. He said the honor meant the most to him as a lifelong resident—Melbourne is his home and always will be.  Space Coast Daily
  • The Eastern Florida State men's soccer team lost 2-1 to Daytona State in the Region 8 Tournament final Saturday night—after a double overtime win over Miami Dade sent them to the title match. They finished the season 11-3-1 and now await a possible at-large berth to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament beginning November 16.  Space Coast Daily
  • Voting is underway for the PuroClean of Melbourne Boys Athlete of the Week covering performances from Oct. 27-Nov. 1, and ballots are accepted until noon on Thursday, Nov. 6 (available at 321preps.com and floridatoday.com).
