- ➤ Neighbors in Melbourne cheered after law enforcement demolished a house overrun by squatters (Seneca Drive) following months of repeated complaints, and Commissioner Rob Feltner said officials plan to remove a similar property (auction on Oct. 15) once the bank takes possession. News 6

- ➤ After heavy rain, strong winds, and higher-than-normal tides caused flooding in parts of Brevard County, local property manager Bill Skinner at Cape Canaveral Mobile Estates reported that pump repairs helped drain the water (while residents in Oak Point still face rising conditions) and a coastal flood warning remains in effect today. - ➤ Residents in a section of Melbourne are advised to boil their water after a water main repair temporarily shut off supply at 1207 E. Melbourne Avenue, 2005 Front Street, and 1313 E. - ➤ Tourist Development Tax collections reached nearly $6.2 million this summer, a 0.4% increase from last summer—bringing the year's total to $24.33 million, which is 3% higher than last year. Space Coast Daily
