  • Blue Origin's booster 'Never Tell Me the Odds' rolled from its Merritt Island facility to the Cape Canaveral launch pad on Oct. 8—Blue Origin will launch its New Glenn rocket next month to send NASA’s ESCAPADE mission to Mars.  Florida Today
  • Today at Kennedy Space Center, the 188-foot Blue Origin New Glenn booster rolled past the press site—surprising onlookers—and is being readied for NASA’s November ESCAPADE mission to Mars.  Florida Today
  • SpaceX will launch Amazon Project Kuiper’s 28 satellites from Cape Canaveral today at 9:34 p.m.—the Falcon 9 rocket will send them into low-Earth orbit and its booster will aim to land on a drone ship if weather permits with backup opportunities until 11:48 p.m.  Florida Today
  • Space Prep is set to open a new commercial satellite integration and testing facility inside the Kennedy Space Center, making it easier for small and mid-sized innovators to reach space.   • The Melbourne Independent Film Festival will hold the world premiere of the documentary film “The Man Behind the Six Million Dollar Man: The Untold Story of Martin Caidin” on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 3:45 p.m. at the Oaks Theatre on Hibiscus behind the mall—this 90‑minute film explores Caidin’s early life and influence on modern bionics.  Hometown News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Heavy rain on Monday caused the Indian River Lagoon to spill into streets at Oak Point Retirement Community—raising flood and beach erosion concerns across the county. Showers and downpours are expected today and Friday, and residents in lower areas may need to use sandbags to keep water out of their homes.  News 6
