- ➤ A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct 7, after a week-long delay caused by Tropical Storm Imelda. The rocket’s first stage will land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean to avoid sonic booms—SpaceX also has another launch planned for Oct 8 to send Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellites into orbit. - ➤ Brevard Public Schools received a $1.45-million grant from a statewide investment to expand career and technical education programs at local high schools - including programs in cloud computing at Merritt Island High and cybersecurity at Melbourne High. The funding will support courses in fields such as aviation, applied IT and artificial intelligence at Titusville, Space Coast, Eau Gallie, Cocoa Beach and Bayside high schools. Space Coast Daily
- ➤ Orlando Health and GROW Healthy Kids delivered recess kits last month to classrooms at Endeavor Elementary in Cocoa and Sabal Elementary in Melbourne—each kit included soccer balls, cones, jump ropes and tennis balls.
