  • Many free and low-cost events will take place across the Space Coast from October 3 to 9, including a Puerto Rican Day parade in Palm Bay, animal concerts in Palm Bay and Indialantic, and a blessing of animals in Cocoa Village. Melbourne residents can also enjoy First Friday in Wickham Park — a local event with food trucks and live music, while other community outings include a pumpkin rescue in Rockledge, an art walk in Eau Gallie, ranger-led tours at Turkey Creek Sanctuary, and a free boat trip to Samsons Island.  Florida Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Eastern Florida State College Foundation will host its Scholarship Golf Classic Tournament on Friday, November 7 at the Duran Golf Club in Viera with an 8:30 a.m. Shotgun Start—registrations are open for sponsors and players to support student scholarships.  Space Coast Daily
  • Brevard Public Schools and IUPAT reached tentative agreements on new leave policies and a wage framework that will guide a three-year contract — the updates include changes to sick, parental, and extended leave rules to better align with federal guidelines.   • Forty-seven Merritt Island High School AFEX students and 11 Jefferson Middle School students visited Florida Tech’s College of Aviation Flight Line today to learn about aircraft and career paths in aviation.   • Melbourne Central Catholic will travel to Terriers Stadium on Friday night to face Titusville. Live pre-game coverage will start shortly before the 7 p.m. kickoff — Terry Spain and Zane Garcia will call the game as MCC, with a record of 1—3, and the team aims to improve its standing.  Space Coast Daily
