  • SpaceX will launch a Falcon 9 carrying 28 Starlink satellites today from Cape Canaveral (launch window 4:36 a.m. to 8:36 a.m.). United Launch Alliance will launch an Atlas V rocket with 27 Project Kuiper satellites (target launch at 8:09 a.m. with a 29-minute window) later today.  Florida Today
  • SpaceX will launch its Falcon 9 rocket today from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 4:38 a.m. to send 28 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit (the booster will later land on a droneship in the Atlantic Ocean) as part of its expanding internet network.  WFTV 9

CULTURE NEWS

  • This weekend on the Space Coast, events include an Atlantic City Boys concert at Merritt Island Moose Lodge on Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m., a Cuban dinner fundraiser at Suntree United Methodist Church on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m., a pet-friendly Oktoberfest and Puptoberfest at Intracoastal Brewing in Melbourne from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and a 5K run in Cocoa Beach along with live theater and magic shows across the region.  Florida Today
  • The Wizard of Oz museum will move to 333 W. Cocoa Beach Causeway after owner Fred Trust said high construction costs and long timelines in Kissimmee made the move too expensive—he expects the new location to open in May 2026.  Florida Today

  • Dozens of Health First colleagues gathered under white tents in Viera to honor late hospital president Dustin Boring, who died in July. A bench and a tree—symbols of his legacy—were dedicated at the campus to offer a quiet place for remembrance.  Space Coast Daily
  • The nonprofit Do It For Hunter will host its 4th annual You Matter Day on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Merritt Island High School—offering games, a dunk tank and a fun run—and provide mental health support in honor of National Suicide Awareness Month.  Hometown News
  • Updated COVID-19 boosters are now available at CVS, Publix and Walgreens in Brevard after a Florida Board of Pharmacy meeting on Sept 23 — the FDA approved the updated vaccines on Aug 27. Adults 18 and older are eligible for a single dose, with those 65 and under-65s with high risks included, and appointments can be made by phone or online.  Florida Today
