- ➤ Brevard County has 19 locally acquired dengue cases — 80% of Florida’s 24 cases — as experts believe that warmer, wetter conditions are helping the mosquitoes spread the virus; county officials are using targeted pesticide spraying and mosquitofish to reduce the risk.
