  • NASA and SpaceX will launch a Northrop Grumman Cygnus spacecraft on an International Space Station resupply mission from Cape Canaveral tomorrow at 6:11 p.m. Spectators along the local Space Coast may hear sonic booms and view the launch from beaches and parks (weather permitting).  Florida Today
  • Nearly 100,000 Toyota, Lexus and Subaru vehicles were recalled due to HVAC system issues outlined in a Sept 5 notice as an electrical compressor failure could disable the defogger. Owners will receive letters by Oct 20 and must visit dealers to update the software free of charge—ensuring the vehicles remain safe in Florida’s heat.  Florida Today

  • NASA will launch a SpaceX Falcon 9 carrying the IMAP heliosphere mapping observatory, NOAA's SWFO-L1 space weather observatory and NASA's Carruthers Geocorona Observatory from Launch Complex 39A (at Kennedy Space Center) at NET 7:32 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23 to enhance space weather forecasting and heliophysics research.  Space Coast Daily
  • Melbourne police and fire leaders warn that parking in a fire lane delays emergency vehicles—drivers risking a $25 fine may cause dangerous wait times that could cost lives. They urge everyone to keep fire lanes clear to ensure quick responses in emergencies.  Hometown News

  • All four Health First hospitals got American Heart Association awards for using new guidelines to treat heart disease and stroke — the awards show their focus on giving better care to people in Brevard County.  Hometown News
  • Brevard County Mosquito Control uses spray trucks and lab tests to fight dengue fever that appeared locally for the first time. The team also releases fish that eat mosquito larvae—an effort to lower disease risk.  Florida Today
