  • A Florida man was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly slammed his small dog to the ground — he also headbutted a patrol car and threatened deputies at Gator's Dockside in Port Canaveral before being taken to jail.  FOX 35 Orlando
  • Melbourne Police responded to a shooting report at 904 Poplar Lane on Aug 29 at 10:51 p.m.—finding a 2-year-old child dead and two related adults critically injured—while the investigation continues.  Florida Today
  • Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey warned residents of scam text messages that appear to come from banks and ask if they made a purchase (the texts may include links) and urged using official bank numbers to verify any claims.  Space Coast Daily
