Good morning, Melbourne. Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 8th of August.

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Embraer will invest $90 million at Melbourne International Airport to expand its production of Phenom and Praetor jets. • Lou's Blues, a popular bar on State Road A1A, is no longer for sale as owner Michael Pauline reversed his decision due to his staff's loyalty—he plans to operate the establishment for another five to 10 years. • SpaceX is asking for permission to test its Starship from Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center—saying it will boost local space work—and plans a Florida launch by the end of 2025.
