- ➤ Police across the Space Coast, including Brevard County Sheriff's Office and Melbourne Police Department, arrested several individuals on July 26 on charges ranging from DUI and battery to fraud and resisting officers — all suspects remain presumed innocent until proven guilty. - ➤ On Friday, Eastern Florida State College’s men’s tennis team was named an ITA All-Academic Team — they achieved a 3.35 GPA and recognized Tomas Kurz, Pablo Garcia, and Konstantin Kukaras as top scholar athletes. - ➤ A devastating fish kill occurred between the 520 and Pineda Causeways after lagoon water temperatures stayed above 90 degrees for over a month—storm runoff and low oxygen also likely played a role—in affecting all species, including redfish.
