- ➤ The City of Melbourne has been awarded $1.5m in state funding for two projects—$1m for a downtown streetscape project that will improve sidewalks, drainage, and streetlights along East New Haven Avenue, and $500k for a boat dock replacement project to upgrade access to the Indian River Lagoon. Design work for the streetscape is scheduled for this summer, and construction on the boat dock is expected to begin early next year—officials are also seeking additional funding with award notifications anticipated by the end of September.
