Good morning, Melbourne.

Luis Rivas-Martinez, 41, was stopped near Rockledge on July 2 for a window tint violation and driving without a license—records show he had been deported three times and he is now in federal custody with a plea hearing on July 8.

Savannah Jace, a 17-year-old girl missing from Philadelphia since June 27, may be traveling to Cocoa, authorities said; her grandmother said she is missed and described her as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, 170 pounds with brown eyes & dyed purple hair, last seen wearing a black T-shirt while carrying her pet cat in a carrier.

Florida wildlife officials urge beachgoers to avoid fireworks this Fourth of July weekend to protect nesting shorebirds and sea turtles from loud noises and bright lights—since such disturbances can force adults away from nests.

They advise leaving fireworks to professionals and keeping pets on short leashes—steps meant to protect vulnerable eggs and hatchlings.
