Good morning, Melbourne.

On June 4th, a crane collapsed at the Health First Cape Canaveral Hospital construction site on Merritt Island, causing the deaths of two workers during wind gusts of 51 mph and 47 mph—OSHA is investigating while construction remains paused.

Spirit Halloween is hiring seasonal workers for its upcoming stores in Melbourne, Merritt Island and Titusville — available roles include sales associates, store managers and assistant store managers — as it prepares for early August openings for the 2025 spooky season.

SpaceX is set to launch a Falcon 9 rocket with 27 Starlink satellites early this morning from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station — the booster’s first stage will land on its droneship in the Atlantic Ocean after stage separation.

This mission marks the booster’s fifth flight, which previously supported several significant launches.

SpaceX crews are preparing to launch another Falcon 9 rocket from Florida’s Space Coast overnight.

SpaceX plans to launch its Falcon 9 rocket carrying 27 Starlink satellites today at 12:26 a.m. from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (backup opportunities are available until 4:26 a.m. and no sonic booms are expected over Brevard).

The rocket's first-stage booster will target landing on a SpaceX drone ship after liftoff.

More than 130 new Florida laws will take effect on July 1, including a ban on geoengineering that makes releasing chemicals by airplanes a third-degree felony, a law blocking local control of presidential libraries, and changes to school start times and student smartphone use.

The laws also stop plans to commercialize state parks, rename the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America, ban fluoride in public water, and allow alternative execution methods — these measures mark a wide shift in state policy.
