- ➤ A divided federal appeals court upheld a judge’s order that stops new septic tank permits in parts of the Indian River Lagoon — a move to protect Florida’s manatees. The moratorium will take effect July 17 — the ruling also directs the state to begin a biomedical assessment program and supplemental feeding to address rising environmental concerns. News 6
- ➤ The FWC reported that Brevard County now leads the state in manatee deaths in 2025—raising concerns about environmental stress on marine life.
