- ➤ Today, ULA will launch an Atlas V rocket carrying Amazon’s second batch of Project Kuiper satellites from Cape Canaveral at 1:25 p.m.—the rocket uses five solid boosters and will ascend along a northeasterly path—and Brevard County residents should not hear sonic booms. Forecasts call for scattered clouds, isolated showers and good visibility with a 75% chance for go weather. Florida Today

- ➤ The Federal Trade Commission warns pet owners that scammers posing as animal shelter staff (claiming a pet was hit by a car) are asking for payment (of $500) immediately, so people should verify any such calls with their local shelter. Space Coast Daily

- ➤ Tax data from the Space Coast Office of Tourism showed that hotel and cruise numbers rose in spring and helped boost earnings, with collections up by 10.5% in April and combined March–April figures up 3.3%. The boost means local shops, restaurants and beaches are expected to be busy this summer — and Port Canaveral will soon debut a huge new cruise ship. Florida Today
