  • Melbourne police are investigating vandalism at the Women's Center of Brevard on Aurora Road that caused extensive damage to a facility already closed for plumbing and electrical repairs—no arrests have been made and a GoFundMe page was set up to help cover repair costs.  Florida Today
  • In downtown Melbourne, Stephan Dieujuste, 24, originally charged with manslaughter for the May 11 killing of 19-year-old Nathaniel Jennings is now facing a second-degree murder charge—prosecutors plan to seek revocation of his bail.  WFTV 9
  • The Women's Center of Brevard on Aurora Road was vandalized—doors were broken, paint was thrown, graffiti marked the walls, and computers and office equipment were stolen or damaged.  Florida Today

HEALTH NEWS

  • Brevard County-based Health First Health Plans has joined the FBI to warn Central Floridians about a scam in which fraudsters ask for up-front full-year payments for non-existent health insurance coverage—victims later face large bills after receiving care.
