- ➤ The state attorney’s office said it will seek the death penalty against ex-Brevard County corrections deputy David Armstrong Barber—accused of killing 72-year-old Jessie Kirk from Titusville, who was reported missing on March 4—citing the crime as cold, calculated and premeditated. News 6

- ➤ On the Space Coast, ULA sent Amazon’s 27 Project Kuiper satellites to orbit on April 28 and SpaceX launched 28 and 29 Starlink satellites on May 1 and May 4 while the DoD reported a successful hypersonic missile test and senators approved Jared Isaacman’s nomination for NASA administrator with a vote of 19 to 9. Officials also noted a record 107 launches are projected this year + a White House proposal aims to cut NASA’s budget and phase out the SLS rocket after two more missions. Florida Today
