- ➤ Brevard Zoo opened a new manatee rehabilitation center (funded by a $2.1 million state grant) where the first two patients, Churro and Randa, are recovering in a new pool. The center will care for up to six manatees (it is not open to the public) as the zoo works to help sea cows regain health from habitat loss. Florida Today
