- ➤ Palm Bay fire officials reported that multiple brush fires, including three blazes in the Compound and one sparked by a police car in a homeless camp, were contained on April 23 while a Palm Bay officer sustained minor injuries addressing the car fire. Fire crews from Palm Bay, county agencies & the Division of Forestry continued to monitor hotspots amid near-drought conditions that raised concerns over further fire risks. Florida Today

- ➤ Port Canaveral set a new record in March when 925,994 cruise passengers brought in $23.34 million and helped reach totals of 4.42 million passengers and $111.75 million in revenue + port leaders said the numbers show strong growth. The port will welcome the Norwegian Aqua tomorrow and expect more ships next winter as they work on plans for new terminals + local businesses are set to benefit from increased visitors.
