- ➤ Brevard Zoo is seeking an extension of its April 30 deadline to secure $15M in tourism grants for its new aquarium project (having raised $74M of a $140M goal) to boost local tourism. Florida Today

- ➤ Students from Viera High School visited Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center today, touring the county's largest lab and learning about healthcare careers (including the Come Grow With Us program) while observing operations in Pathology, Microbiology, and a simulation lab. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Brevard County begins a $19.5 million muck dredging project in the Indian River Lagoon north of the Eau Gallie Causeway (muck will be piped to a dewatering site off U.S. 1) and urges boaters to exercise caution near active operations as work continues until mid-2027. Florida Today
- ➤ Julian, a green sea turtle rescued from Satellite Beach in October 2025, is being treated at Brevard Zoo’s Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center. Veterinarians are using balanced nutrition, medication and regular check-ups to treat his pneumonia, parasites, wounds and osteomyelitis (a serious bone infection) before his return to the ocean. - ➤ NASA unveiled the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on Tuesday, Apr. 21 at Goddard Space Flight Center + it will be shipped to Cape Canaveral for a SpaceX launch in fall so the observatory can work with Hubble and Webb to study distant galaxies. Florida Today
