- ➤ All Points signed an exclusive NASA agreement to lease 64 acres at Kennedy Space Center for a multi-user spacecraft processing complex that will support national security, civil and commercial missions. - ➤ Brevard Public Schools and the Brevard Federation of Teachers finalized an agreement that will give first year teachers hired by Oct. 28 a one time $750 payment on May 29 and expects around 530 teachers to qualify & receive negotiated raises for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 school years. - ➤ Melby the manatee was rescued from a concrete junction box in Melbourne Beach when a survey crew found him on Feb. 9. After treatment at SeaWorld, he was released at Ballard Park — officials and a gathered crowd celebrated his return to the river. Hometown News
- ➤ Residents in Melbourne already notice more snake activity as weather warms, and state rules say nuisance snakes should be trapped and released or euthanized humanely within 24 hours (protected species cannot be shot and local ordinances restrict firearm use in residential areas). Florida Today

- ➤ County commissioner Thad Altman said that increasing the budget to place lifeguards on every Brevard beach would require a tax hike because many beaches have no lifeguards. Two recent drownings spurred the discussion and the county is hiring 45 lifeguards to help address the shortage. News 6
