  • Lakeside Social, a new waterfront dining and entertainment venue, will open early June in Viera. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • US Army Corps of Engineers is nearing completion of a nearly $50 million beach renourishment project in Indialantic and Melbourne Beach begun after hurricanes damaged the coastline four years ago. The work is expected to finish next month, before a break in May for sea turtle nesting season.  News 6

  • Hazard notices from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station suggest a potential hypersonic missile test off the Space Coast, though officials have not confirmed the details.  Florida Today
  • A mysterious missile launched on Thursday, March 26 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, leaving a thin white contrail across the sky. Officials have not commented (awaiting further details) on the launch, and defense agencies are expected to provide more information soon.  Florida Today
  • Brevard County Emergency Management has announced that the Artemis II launch is set for Wednesday, April 1 from 6:24 to 8:24 p.m. at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Motorists should expect traffic delays and park closures overnight.  City of Melbourne Beach
