- ➤ Florida’s GOP-led Legislature is backing dozens of bills that would limit local governments’ power over taxes, regulation and public policies. One bill would ban local diversity programs—potentially subjecting commissioners who vote for such measures to removal—and more than 50 proposals affecting 411 municipalities and 67 counties are under consideration.
