  • SpaceX will launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 29 Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Wednesday, Mar. 4. The four-hour window runs from 1:58 a.m. to 5:58 a.m. — the booster will target a landing on a drone ship off the South Carolina shoreline.  Florida Today
  • A poll on March 2 shows Brevard voters favor In-N-Out Burger as the fast-casual chain they want on the Space Coast; 37.7% of votes went to the West Coast favorite, fueling hopes for future expansion in the area.  Florida Today

  • A total lunar eclipse known as the blood moon begins at 3:44 a.m. ET & peaks at 6:33 a.m. ET today, offering residents a rare chance to photograph the event even as the moon appears low on the horizon before sunrise.  Florida Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Elementary students launched paper rockets on Feb. 19 during a STEM outreach event at a local school field, where Guardians partnered with Space Launch Delta 45 and Brevard Public Schools to teach basic engineering skills (linking classroom lessons with local space operations).  Space Coast Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Brevard Zoo officials announced that Frankie, a 23-year-old Southern white rhinoceros, will soon move to Potawatomi Zoo in Indiana as part of a conservation effort guided by the AZA Species Survival Plan.
