ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Brevard County Fire Rescue crews contained a five-acre brush fire near two private schools on Thursday, Feb. 26 in North Melbourne. Florida Today
- ➤ A large brush fire on Blounts Ridge Road and Rose Marie Place in northern Brevard has prompted emergency responders to evacuate nearby homes and advise drivers to avoid the area as crews work to contain the blaze. Space Coast Daily
- ➤ On Thursday, Feb. 26, a 20-acre brush fire in Mims forced evacuations and damaged two outside structures + officials said the fire was mostly contained and residents returned home. Florida Today
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Brevard County was placed under a red flag fire warning yesterday due to dry conditions and high winds, and a burn ban is in effect after the drought index hit 500. Forecasts call for more rain later today and residents are urged to clear a 30 foot gap around their homes (set in 2017). Florida Today
