- ➤ A survey team from Melbourne Beach found a nine-foot manatee trapped in an underground drainage system near Oak Street and Riverview Lane. Rescue crews spent over seven hours removing a concrete lid to free the animal, and it is now en route to Sea World for evaluation. Hometown News
- ➤ After a recent cold snap, local agencies reported over two dozen fish kills and volunteers rescued about 200 cold-stunned green sea turtles in the Indian River Lagoon. Experts say the lagoon appears more resilient than it was 15 years ago (thanks to improved monitoring), with no current harmful algae blooms. WFTV 9

- ➤ United Launch Alliance will launch its Vulcan rocket early Thursday from Cape Canaveral, deploying the USSF-87 mission featuring the GSSAP spacecraft to monitor geosynchronous orbit. The launch follows a delay of NASA's Crew-12 to Friday because of weather, and viewers along our coast may see it over the ocean. Florida Today
