- ➤ Local agencies freed a manatee trapped in a stormwater baffle box beneath a Melbourne Beach road (rescue completed on Tuesday, Feb. 10) after a coordinated effort. Florida Today
- ➤ A University of Florida study finds that two invasive termite species, including one already seen in Melbourne, are expanding their range across Florida by mid-century. Homeowners are advised to remove wood near homes and fix drainage to help prevent infestations. Florida Today

- ➤ Airman Leadership School at Patrick Space Force Base held a training exercise at Malabar on Feb. 5 to test decision-making and mission command skills under pressure.
