- ➤ Bruce Cameron, Director of Cruise Operations at Port Canaveral, was elected Propeller Club 2026 President – the first Port employee in the role – and will steer the organization as it hosts its regional conference in April and fundraisers like the ShrimpFeast and Golf Tournament. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Riviera Elementary School was named a 2026 Exceeding Expectations Award School by the East Coast Technical Assistance Center based on 2025 performance data from one of 61 high-poverty schools statewide (Brevard Public Schools praised its strong teaching and leadership). Space Coast Daily
- ➤ Brevard Public Schools held its first board meeting of 2026 on Feb. 3 at 9 a.m. where officials discussed a K–12 textbook adoption hearing and recognized a Viera High teacher (planned layoffs and a school closure were not on the agenda). Florida Today
- ➤ Brevard Public Schools announced federal funding of over $2 million to build a new Aviation Assembly and Fabrication Program at Space Coast Junior and Senior High that will expand career and tech education in North Brevard. School officials say the program will equip students with hands-on skills for aerospace maintenance and welding. Space Coast Daily

- ➤ NASA announced that its Artemis II crewed lunar mission will be delayed due to hydrogen leaks during a fueling test at Cape Canaveral. Officials said work on the 32-story SLS rocket could push the crewed flight to March & stressed there is no schedule pressure. News 6

- ➤ Brevard County high school sports saw competitive girls soccer and basketball action during the week of Feb. 2-7, with key wins by Edgewood, West Shore and Melbourne teams. Coaches sent game results to FLORIDA TODAY via email. Florida Today
