Khan the Jaguar, who turns 12 today, has been moved from Birmingham Zoo to Brevard Zoo in Melbourne as part of a Species Survival Plan to pair him with 5-year-old Lua — a move meant to help conserve this near-threatened species. The zoo said Khan will gradually be introduced to his new home — joining two other jaguars already residing there.
Khan the Jaguar, born in Jacksonville in 2013 and moved to Birmingham Zoo in 2017—has arrived at Brevard Zoo in Melbourne where he will soon be paired with a female jaguar.
